Purchase of Beryl Assault Rifles and UKM-2000P Machine Guns

Under an agreement with Bumar and Fabryka Broni, in 2008 the Ministry of National Defence plans to purchase the following weapons manufactured by the latter company: 3,216 5.56mm wz.96 Beryl aassault rifles (priced at PLN 4,200 each), including 35 of the Beryl-szkolny model and 40 of the Beryl-cutaway as well as 552 5.56mm wz.96 Mini Beryl carbines (gross price PLN 3,900) and 200 9mm wz.98 (PM-98) Glauberyt submachine guns (priced at PLN 3,300), worth a total of PLN 16.2 million.


In 2008 the Polish Armed Forces will take delivery of a large batch of Beryl assault rifles, to replace the worn-out weapons which were put to intensive use on missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, including over 500 Mini Beryl carbines / Photo: Remigiusz Wilk

From Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów, the armed forces will buy 30 12.7mm (.50 BMG) Tor antimaterial sniper rifles (modified versions, with a different, lower bipod and different carry sling attachment points) and 252 7.62mm UKM-2000P machine guns (featuring mounts with universal Picatinny rails fixed to the breech casing cover).

Deliveries of 9mm wz.94 (WIST-94) self-loading pistols will continue as well.
