Szafran-ZT, a system developed by the Telecommunications Research Institute (PIT) based on standards agreed between the NATO countries, which is being rather slowly implemented at the 12th Mechanized Division, has received full approval as the command support system for the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) in Szczecin.

The final stage of implementation of the already selected Szafran (which defeated the German system Heros 2/1, and the Danish system DACCIS which was withdrawn from the running) ended in July 2008.
Important tests in connection with verifying the system’s compliance with Multilateral Interoperability Programme (MIP) regulations, lasted from 9 May to 11 July. They included the System Level Test 3 and Operational Level Test (carried out by ASSECO and Corps G-6 staff). Stage two of the tests included confirming proper compliance with the Corps’ operational requirements. About 200 different scenarios for using a Szafran-class system at Corps command stations were checked (2 simulated command stations, a total of about 75 operating work stations running for 72 hours without interruption).
For a tender involving the Hungarian Land Forces, WB Electronics in association with PIT have prepared a complete command system application with battlefield management system (BMS), moving from the brigade system (based on Szafran) down to sub-units below a battalion (where a version of the TROP system from WB Electronics has been used).
