Negotiations over the delivery of 1,099 SCT Rubin thermal vision gun sights for the Polish forces during 2015-2018 have ended a few days ago.

The unit cost is 80,500 zlotys per gun sight. Due to the huge demand of the army, it is possible to accelerate the delivery. Should that happen, the army would receive 500 thermal sights by the end of this year, and another 500 would reach the hands of soldiers in 2016 and the last batch of 99 in 2017.
To date, the MoD purchased a total of 400 SCT Rubin sights: 200 in 2013 and another 200 a year later. In contrast to these, the latest version includes several modifications requested by users. The changes include, among others, the use of a simplified menu in Polish instead of English.
The Polish Armed Forces intend to order in 2015 a batch of thermal vision binoculars. They are based on solutions used in the SCT Rubin gun sight. The first prototype of such a device is currently undergoing tests. The testing is to be completed by mid-2015.
